Data Corruption & Syncing Nightmares

SplashID came to me highly recommend by a friend and the system looked great when they showed me the ease of access between platforms. However.... I have had a declining relationship with the software. Upon initial use I noticed some lag when updating/adding records between multiple devices. (Some records didnt seem to show up even after syncing, or some records would only show up with partial information) I initially shrugged this off as being slow to update and having too high an expectation. Over the last few months I have entered many additional records (~100) into the system and while I know the company made large improvements recently regarding record synchronization (and things did seem better...) However I again encountered the issue and upon trying to get the records properly synced I am now faced with growing data corruption. Initially all Categories became garbled txt and appeared different on all interfaces (iPhone, Desktop, Web), however if I update any of the records I am now seeing records with completely garbled text. I realize I may push the "limits" of the system by using "non letter characters" in record names or categories (like: - / : ( ) +) and I also rapidly enter/edit data on a single record from both my desktop and iPhone. (Yes I save it and sync before editing it on the other system) That being said, the core functionality of this software is to store and SECURE extremely sensitive and valuable information not available elsewhere. It is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE for that same software to DESTROY the data it is supposed to safeguard. While it appears most people have not had trouble, the volume of users that have seen data loss/corruption far exceeds what I believe is appropriate given the companies core purpose. Im an IT Professional so Id like to think Im not just destroying my data because I dont know what Im doing or attempting some unreasonable demand on the software. Also to those who might comment, I do make regular backups of my data and when attempting to restore those I am still faced with data corruption where it previously did not "appear" to exist. Loosing the data which stores my "ability" to access other vital websites/systems is simply UNACCEPTABLE. Rant over.

Buggy

I am running latest version on iPhone and iPad. Sync will sync some but not all records and when you email for help, all you get are repetitive questions as they dont seem to read what you send them. Im giving up and looking for another app. Prices have gone up and support has gone down. No longer worth it.

Best Password app out there!

Best Password app out there! Very helpful app, Ive been a Splash user for 6 plus years. Also helps to track other important sensitive info like credit cards and manages other life data that is tough to reference on the go.

Good but cant enable TouchID

This is a good password safe with many great features. My biggest complaint is that I cant figure out how to enable TouchID. I have TouchID enabled on my iPhone 6 but I dont see the option in Settings to turn it on in SplashID.

Since Palm pilot days

Ive used Splash ID for years - beginning in the times of the plastic palm pilot devices through the iPod phase and now on iPhone 6, iPad mini 3, and MacBook Pro. I went ahead with the cloud based version about a year ago, which syncs across all platforms. I have over 240 passwords with a variety of expiration cycles. It continues to work really well for me. It would be rough-going without it.

Not good

I cant enter in new info and save... Lost all my passwords horrible do not upgrade.

Ransomware

A nicely functional password vault, until the moment your subscription expires (the CC I had on file for my subscription expired). Then, the app becomes a password ransom app. Worse, the functionality to renew through in-app purchase doesnt function correctly. Im sure Ill get this straightened out when I get access to my desktop again, but for the time being having my passwords held hostage for the price of a yearly renewal and then further being unable to pay the ransom gives this a strongly "not recommended" password vault.

Great app...

Easy to use. Great synch feature. Overall user friendly and secure.

Excellent customer service

I’ve been using Splash ID Safe for a number of years. It has been upgraded and at first there were a lot of issues and problems. However, the company was very diligent in addressing all the problems and it is all fixed now. Any time I have had a problem, customer support gets back with me immediately and stays on the issue until there is a solution.

I love this password manager

I just happen to find this app by accident but I do love it. I recommend new users to buy the lifetime with the USB Key Flash Drive. To me it was worth the money. And the USB Key works great as a hard back-up. Unfortunately, it doesnt work at my work place where I need it the most. But my work place has a strict computer policy and is not Splash ID fault. But the smartphone app comes in handy.

Forces you to store your master password on their server

Unbelievable really, SplashID requires your local vault password to be the same as your SplashID website password, even if your dont use syncing at all. They literally demand a copy of your master password to use their lock. You cant even Hance it later without giving their website the new one. One might expect this for cloud syncing, but its insane for local access! It makes this app too untrustworthy to use for me.

Great for my use

I only use the wifi sync but that works great for what I want. The system is pretty robust but does sometimes get temporarily corrupted and needs a reboot. Not a huge deal though. The primary data stays intact. Overall, excellent app!

Back to a functioning app.

Many of my prior issues seem to be resolved. Timeout has been restored and all appears to be working on my devices. I still run TWO password managers to ensure I am never caught flat footed again - too mission critical!

Great App

This is a great app. I have been using it since I initially got for a Palm PDA back around 2000.

Ransom ware, buyer beware! It automatically renews

You wont have the option of renewal. You will be stuck with it until you buy a new iPad. Apple apps should be more careful about who they let in. I blame Apple. Maybe I should go back to Microsoft Windows or the Google machine.

Not worth it

The app and the company behind it are not worth the headache. Ive been a user for years and they continue to disappoint. Although it is a hassle to switch, Im in the process of changing over 200 passwords to their competition.

Beats all the others

One of the original password apps. They help manage their own cloud servers for password syncing vs the competition that use Dropbox. Have been a customer for years, looked at the other password managers but keep coming back to this one.

Great functionality.

This app is great. It works good across all platforms.

Flawed

Just when I was going to delete the App I was asked to rate it. It corrupted All of my data. I went with a different Product. You should too.

Each change gets worse

Every time there is an update there is something taken away. First the appearance is not as good, you use to be able to log on to a website within the app. Now it logs on but in a split screen (iPad app) that is to small to do anything with and it doesnt auto fill the password and user name. Since it is logged on to the web site you now cant see the user name and password to type it in. That has made this app completely useless. Ive been using this app back in the palm pilot days. Its sad to see it going backwards with each update. The original iPad app was great, worked great and looked good. They changed the name of the app and it started going down hill from there. Whats next? I had a since of some security with the old program but all that is talked about now is their cloud sync. How secure is their cloud. With the Micky mouse changes over the past year Im sure a 10 year old could hack my info. Dont feel secure any longer. Stick to the basics and keep it simple and secure. There is not one update that you have done in the last year that has improved the performance or usefulness of this app. I give you a negative 5 star until you start fixing some basic functions that use to work great but now dont work.
